“Bak Kut Teh” is a kind of Malaysian chinese traditional herbal pork soup which practiced since nearly a decade ago, being now one of the locals favourite eatery selection. Also been our nation’s chinese delicacy eatery must eat by visitors when reached Malaysia. Not only commonly in Klang (Selangor) but here in the north, we have found and successfully recognised among the northern best Claypot Bak Kut Teh carried by “Kam Heong” originated from Kampar, Perak since year 2016 now being exposed into Ipoh town in 2018.

The Kampar, Perak originated Mr. New Gee Keng (born 1978), was the initial founder, together with Ho Chun Yap (born 1996) both are the recent owners of this best recommended “Kam Heong Food & Beverage” bak kut teh eating house at Pasir Pinji, Ipoh introducing their very home recipe claypot chinese herbal pork soup (Bak Kut Teh) and other menu selections to the locals & visitors in manner. Also being recognised among the best in town year 2018.


The founder New Gee Keng who at his age of only 40 years old currently, whose grown-up in a family all the while in Chinese Confectionery Industry at hometown Kampar, Perak made him stepped into the f&b industry in year 2008 been taken up the responsibility to continue family’s career at his 30th of age. Then operating his very first & owned cafeteria “Simple Coffee” in year 2013 allowed Gee Keng further experienced in the field, which the cafeteria still on-going in Kampar recently.

With his (New Gee Keng) great interest in eatery all the while, also vision to expose further our nation’s (Malaysia) chinese traditional Bak Kut Teh to the market and added with foreseeing the market opportunity in the f&b industry allowed him in year 2016 began his very own-made bak kut teh eating house “Kam Heong” in Kampar, Perak. Later-on bodied up with youngster Ho Chun Yap successfully established their outlet named “Kam Heong Food & Beverage” Bak Kut Teh specialised restaurant brought into Ipoh town in year 2018 at Taman Hoover. Being recognised as among the best in town.

In Kam Heong Bak Kut Teh (Perak), the founder’s very first top recommended in menus surely will be their famous “Kam Heong Claypot Bak Kut Teh Soup” which most wanted by their regular customers.  In-house soup base boiled in total about 7 hours from pork offal (2 hours) then mixture of 12 chinese herbals (another 5 hours) to bring the best recipes, finally served boiling in claypot on options of pork spare ribs, belly & lean meats, stomach, intestine and pig’s trotter sided with dried beancurd (tau pok) & beancurd sheet (tau kee) brings a pot of wonderful Kam Heong Bak Kut Teh Soup with nice obvious herbal’s taste and meat’s texture & freshness into mouth you must try when reached either Kampar or Ipoh, Perak.

Secondly will be their “Signature Dry Bak Kut Teh”, which among the restaurants’ daily top seller favourite by their visitors recently. Prepared on order, fried in claypot with mixture of pork belly, lean meat, stomach & intestine (or customer’s options) into their home recipe sauce mixture, then poured into slight their in-house bak kut teh soup base, then added lady finger, dry chilli, chilli padi and dried cuttlefish shredded brings unbelievable exotic sweet & fair spicy taste you really cannot find the same neither elsewhere in town.

Another will be the most indifferent “Black Vinegar Pork Trotter” which we ever tasted and like mostly by the locals here. Braised at least 2 hours with the mixtures of local fresh pig’s trotter selected, gingers, black vinegar, black beans and home ingredients mixture, finally served boiled in claypot topped with a boiled chicken egg brings excellent pot of black vinegar trotter that you will never regret after tasted here. Especially the trotter’s bites texture itself into mouth and the natural collagen brought from the long hours braised in-house.

Moreover, the owners also introduced their menu selection of “Pork Stomach Pepper Soup” which prepared in 2 hours boiled with quality pepper & onion mixed into cleaned chicken feets and pig’s stomach brings delicious spicy taste you really cannot aside and cannot missed when stepped into this “Kam Heong Food & Beverage” Bak Kut Teh restaurant either in Kampar or Ipoh, Perak.
