The Pahang local originated Mr. Shin Chee Kang, Chef Kang (born 1983) was the initial founder, together with his wife Ms. Alice Teo Lai Kwan (born 1985) and partners are the recent owners of this best recognised VIP Premium Chinese Cuisine eating place “Mum Ching Restaurant” in Kuantan township introducing most of their chef’s home recipes and various of locals delicacy eateries selection to the locals & visitors in better manner all under a roof nowadays.

Shin Chee Kang or commonly known Chef Kang, also the restaurant’s main chef, who at his age of only 35 years old currently all the while having interest in eatery and with the encouragement from parents made him in year 1998 at his 15th of age initially stepped into the f&b industry began as a kitchen trainee in “Hai Tian” chinese cuisine restaurant in Kuantan, Pahang. Then been exposed in the field later to be positioned as Chef at his about 20th of age, also been touched Teochew Cuisine other than only local chinese cuisine along his route.

While at his twenties, Chef Kang also been running his very owned mixed rice (economic rice) food stall in town, then also owned a home-cooked chinese seafood restaurant for about few years in Kuantan where his wife Alice Teo joined into the career before forming their “Mum Ching Restaurant” (2010-2017). In order to expose further in the field, also wishing to have his eating house in better manner and foreseeing the market opportunity in the industry added with his experiences hold on good response from the locals all the while, allowed the couple (Chef Kang & Alice Teo) bodied-up with partners successfully expanded their “Mum Ching Restaurant” into VIP Premium Chinese Cuisine Restaurant in year 2017 at Air Putih, Kuantan. Finally being recognised among the best in town by F&B E-Media for year 2018.

In this Mum Ching Restaurant, the owner Chef Kang’s very first top recommended in menus will be their “Signature Homemade Spot Steamed Shark Lip with Assorted Seafood” which most wanted by the locals. Local or imported fresh shark lips selected, braised in-house mixed with sea tendons (type of sea cucumber), Lala clams, squids & gingers in their long hours boiled home soup base recipes, poured into slight quality chinese rice wine, finally served in metal hotpot on flaming will brings wonderful VIP eatery selection that you must try when reached Kuantan, Pahang. Especially the natural seafoods and shark lip’s collagen from the braised itself and the exotic tasty wine & seafood freshness into mouth.

Another will be their most famous “Fried Spanish Spare-Ribs with Spicy Sauce”, which among the most wanted by the visitors recently. High quality imported Spanish Iberico Pork Ribs selected, marinated overnight on chef’s home recipes, roast-cooked (barbeque) in-house then served either sided with fresh veges or veges salad mixtures, will brings unbelievable tasty Iberico pork rib’s freshness taste and exotic meat’s juicy in bites that you neither found the same nor better elsewhere in town.

Nonetheless, the owners also introduced their chef’s all time favourite recommendation in set menus, their “Seafood Hotpot” which commonly ordered in a set.
