The founder Chan Hin Wai, who at his age of 68 years old currently, all the while having great interest in eatery and chefing/culinary initially stepped into the f&b industry at his 16th of age began as a kitchen trainee in a chinese cuisine restaurant at hometown Sandakan. Later-on been positioned as a chef, started his career in early 1990s along Jalan Singapore serving his menus in a kopitiam, assisted by wife Yuen Fun. Then in year 1992 began his very owned restaurant “Chan Restaurant” at Tanah Merah, and moved to Jalan Singapore after few years continued his exposure in the field reached year 2006.

With Mr. Chan’s vision to have his very premium chinese cuisine restaurant, wishing to expose further in the career and experiences hold. Added with foreseeing the market opportunity in the f&b industry allowed him in year 2006, together with wife Yuen Fun successfully established their named “Kenalanmu Steamboat S/B” at Bandar Indah, Sandakan joined with Grace Lim, introducing most of their chef’s signatures & home recipe selections to the locals in better manner. Also being recognised among the best in town by the F&B E-Media for year 2019.

In this Kenalanmu Steamboat restaurant, the founder Mr. Chan’s very first top recommended in menus will be their famous “Tasty Mango Chicken” which neither found the same elsewhere in town. Local feeded meat chicken commonly selected, deep fried then prepared in boneless cutted cubes, placed in a cup mixed with mayonnaise sauce bottoms with marinated sea jellyfish shredded, and served topped with local fresh mango slice will brings excellent food’s presentation on table with wonderful sweet & appertising sour taste eatery into mouth that you must try when reached Sandakan, Sabah.
