The founder cum Main Chef Fook Seng or known Chef Ee, who at his age of 51 years old currently, initially stepped into the f&b industry at his 18th of age in year 1985 began as a kitchen trainee touched the chinese cuisine field exposed for about 8 years in Singapore. Then started his very first own eating place “Dong Yan Seafood & Steamboat” at hometown Kulai, Johor in year 1990s running nearly 20 years there presenting his home recipe chinese, seafood & steamboat cuisines to the market all under a roof.

While owner Jovan Pang’s wife Amber Ee, who since kids touched the career helping father in their family’s restaurant made Amber having great interest in eatery, added with the couple’s (Amber & Jovan) vision to have their very own restaurant and foreseeing the market opportunity in the f&b industry. Also wishing to continue and further expose father’s home recipes allowed Amber and husband in year 2018 successfully established their home recipe chinese cuisine eating house named again “Dong Yan Restaurant” at Bandar Indahpura, Kulai. Leading by father Chef Ee from the beginning, also finally being recognised among the best in town by the F&B E-Media for the year 2019 in the southern nation.

In this Dong Yan home recipe restaurant, the owners’ very first top recommended in menus will be their famous “Tomyam Seafood Pot”, which favourite by their visitors all the while. Homemade tomyam paste (from more than 10 spices mixture) boiled into tomyam soup broth, then served boiling in metal pot with seafoods option such grouper fish head pieces, squids, sea prawns, lala clams and sometimes added into crabs will brings excellent sour & spicy and the seafood freshness taste swallowed into mouth that you must have a try when reached Johor. Homemade beancurd or taufu steamed 25 minutes  in-house from mixtures of fresh soya milk & chicken egg in shape, followed by deep fried then mixed onto minced pork, chopped long beans, mushrooms & yam shredded in home sauce broth, steamed for another few minutes on lotus leaf will brings unbelievable beancurd’s smoothness itself and the nice lotus leaf taste that you will never regret after tasted here.
