“Bak Kut Teh” been decade famously known by not only the Malaysians, but also the favourites by most of the visitors when reached our country.  Also being frequently practised everywhere in the nation on respective recipes, among the most popular is from Klang, Selangor.  But in the east, we found and being recognised one of the best bak kut teh home recipe in “Go Fun Kee” by the Sarawakian, going international.

The Sarawakian Mr. Huong How Sing who born in year 1970, originated from Marudi, Miri was the initial founder and recently together with nephew Goh Sing Hee (born 1984) are the recent owners of the authentic herbal pork soup “Go Fun Kee Bak Kut Teh” restaurants, having outlets throughout the state and going into China market to expose further in the industry introducing the founder’s recipes.

Mr. Huong How Sing who at his age of 45 years old currently, formerly was in Books Trading & Exhibition Industry, all the while having great interest in eatery and foreseen the market opportunity in f&b industry made him stepped into the career since year 1995 running his very first “Red Tea Lot” Taiwanese bubble tea and snacks eating house at 3-miles, Kuching where he began his bak kut teh recipes trying to include in the menu.  With the mission to expose and to have his bak kut teh specialised restaurant, allowed him in year 2002 established the 1st “Go Fun Kee Bak Kut Teh” eating house at 2.5-miles, Kuching (Jalan Rock) on improved recipes, also having great response from the market.

While Mr. Huong’s nephew Goh Sing Hee who joined his uncle since year 2005, added with the growing opportunity in demand also enabled them subsequently opened up outlets throughout the state in Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu and Miri with total 9 branches.  And also going into China with recently 2 on-going outlets, another coming up in year 2016 all under the branding “Go Fun Kee Bak Kut Teh”.

Surely talking about “Go Fun Kee”, the founder’s top first recommended in menus will be their Signature Bak Kut Teh Soup.  Soup base boiled 2 & half hours with 9 herbals and 3 recipe ingredients mixture brings authentic herbal soup you must try when reached Sarawak.  Options of belly pork, ribs, joints, stomach, trotter, meat ball, liver, kidney, tail and intestine will be on customer’s request.  Among the best will be the pork ribs, with the excellent meats bite texture you should try.

Secondly will be their famous Dry Bak Kut Teh, another top seller in the restaurant most wanted by visitors.  Stir-fried in claypot with their herbal soup base, mixed into dried cuttlefish, dried chilli, lady finger and into black soy sauce brings exotic spicy taste you will never regret after tasted.  Meats option will too in the menu selection on customer’s request.

Another is the Red Dates Chicken, also one of the traditional favourites Fook Chew eatery since decade.  Using the red dates remaining from homemade red wine, stir-fried in claypot with chicken in cutted pieces, then into slight red wine stewed another 10 minutes will be the best in town you cannot aside.

Moreover, for those who like sour must order their well known home recipe Black Vinegar Pork Trotter.  Local fresh selected pork trotter stewed at least 2 hours on home recipes mixture, added into quality black vinegar and ginger slices brings sweet & sour taste favourites by especially the chinese religious in town.  Best taken sided with a bowl of their hot boiled white rice.

Nonetheless, the founder Mr. Huong also took the opportunity to introduce his best dessert 3-Colour Pudding which favourites by the locals.  And their top seller fresh healthy beverage Cucumber Juice and Carrot Milk Juice you cannot missed when stepped into the “Go Fun Kee Bak Kut Teh” restaurants.
