“Dim Sum”, which been thousand years taken by the Chinese religious around the world originated from China later exposed in Hong Kong formerly also renowned among emperor eateries, now being favourites by the Malaysians recently.  Here in Sri Petaling, Kuala Lumpur we found and successfully recognised one of the best Hong Kong dim sum and milk tea specialist “Dim Sum Yuen” occupying by the 2 classmates into the local market.

The both Perak originated Mr. Cheah Wai Keh who born in year 1967, together with his best classmate Mr. Dennis Lau Han Chuan (also born 1967) were the initial founders and immediate owners of the recommended “Dim Sum Yuen” hong kong milk tea and dim sum eating house introducing most of their home recipes selection to the locals and visitors.


Cheah Wai Keh who at his age of 49 years old currently, was 10 years formerly in Health Products Industry, all the while having great interest in eatery added with foreseen the market opportunity in f&b industry allowed him to decide bodied-up with best friend Dennis Lau Han Chuan, who was 15 years in Steel Industry, successfully in year 2015 established their very first and owned restaurant named “Dim Sum Yuen” at Sri Petaling, Kuala Lumpur emphasising and brought into the Hong Kong milk tea and dim sum recipes.

Subsequent to the great response from the public on their menus and authentic beverages served, allowed their “Dim Sum Yuen” being recognised after a year in 2016 as one of the best dim sum house with traditional hong kong recipes.

In Dim Sum Yuen, the owners first top recommended in menus will be their Shrimp Dumpling Soup or locally known “Ha Kao Shiong Tong”.  Homemade rice-made wrapper wrapped insided with fresh shrimp, then steamed about 8 minutes with their in-house few hours boiled chicken soup base and finally served in 3 per set brings really authentic shrimp dumpling you must try when reached Kuala Lumpur.  Especially the chicken soup base swallowed into mouth and the shrimp dumpling bites texture itself.

Secondly will be their Steamed Siew Mai (Pork Dumpling), which among the restaurant’s top seller.  Local fresh pork minced prepared, wrapped insided with flour-made wrapper skin then steamed 8 minutes with topped onto fresh shrimp brings the best “Siew Mai” in town, you neither found elsewhere.

While in Bun or “Pao” selections, the founders strongly recommended their restaurant’s top signature Sesame Sweet Bun which most wanted by their regulars.  Homemade recipe sesame paste from black sesame seeds, insided into flour-made bun then served after 10 minutes steamed you cannot aside.

Another will be their Guangzhou Style Shrimp Rice Noodle Roll or locally known “Chee Cheong Fun” which also among their signature menu.  Fresh shrimp or char siew (roasted pork) commonly used mixed with veges rolled with homemade rice noodles (chee cheong fun), followed by steam-cooked and served poured onto their  more than 10 ingredients mixture soy sauce, sided with sambal (made from dried shrimp, garlic & onion) you will never regret after tasted.

In Dessert corner, their Steamed Pumpkin Cake will be the best to be ordered in Dim Sum Yuen according to the restaurant’s owner.  Pumpkin made flour bun served after steam-cooked brings exotic sweet pumpkin taste itself will be the dessert first choice here.

Nonetheless, the founders surely taken the opportunity to introduce their best smoothness traditional authentic Hong Kong Milk Tea which ingredients all the way imported from Hong Kong you cannot missed when dining in this recommended “Dim Sum Yuen” at Sri Petaling, Kuala Lumpur.
