“Chicken Rice” since decades ago frequently practiced especially by chinese religious, also one of the favourites food taken around the nation, too practising until recent famously in South Malaysia. Here in Johor, we have successfully found and recognised the chicken rice specialist “Eng Kit”, serving its delicious chicken rice to all customers.

Mr. Lim Boon Chee is the owner and founder of this chicken rice restaurant. He has just started his restaurant in 2017, serving the chicken rice to the customers and has since received positive response for his cheap and delicious chicken.

Mr. Lim Boon Chee was born in 1975 at Selangor. He first stepped into the F&B industry when he was 9 years old, working as a trainee in a chicken rice shop with his brother in Kuala Lumpur. At the age of 19, he decided to go to Singapore to acquire more knowledge on making chicken rice for three years. However, after coming back to Malaysia from Singapore, he did not start operating his own chicken rice shop immediately. He went to work as a chef in a chinese restaurant and other F&B related jobs for many years, thus making him experienced in Chinese food. In 2017, in order to fulfill his father’s dream to own a chicken rice restaurant, he decided to establish a restaurant in Taman Puteri Wangsa, Johor.

The first recommended food in his restaurant is “Roasted Chicken”. The chicken is marinated with more than 5 ingredients and roasted for 30 minutes and it is ready to be served. This chicken, when eaten, brings out juicy, smooth and wet (not too dry) texture and the taste is fresh and not too salty.


The owner also recommended his “Roasted Pork”. Marinated with ingredients such as salt, five-spice powder and other recipe, it is then taken to be roasted under high temperature for 40 minutes. The skin of the roasted pork is crispy, but the meat is soft. Although marinated with salt, it tastes perfectly salty and delicious.

The third recommended food in “Eng Kit” is its “Boiled White Chicken”. Using ingredients such as ginger and salt to marinate the chicken, it is then boiled with their homemade soup base for 40 minutes. The meat tastes sweet and salty and the texture of the meat is smooth and soft.


Last but not least, the owner also recommended his ABC Soup. It is one of his signatures which is frequently ordered for customers for free. Chicken bones, carrots,  tomatoes and potatoes are boiled and cooked for one hour. This soup does not contain any MSG and has a sweet taste.
