In Johor, Malaysia one of the local famous food taken not only by citizens but also visiotors will be the Mee Hoon Kueh originated by chinese religious.  The Slim River, Perak origin Ms. Diane Tee Saw Kin who born in year 1966 is the founder with her family owned the two outlets “Double Joy Food House One” running in Johor serving their home made recipe mee hoon kueh in four flavours.

Ms. Diane who with age of 48 currently, the former school teacher then spending her 20 years working in Singapore as electronic factory supervisor since year 1991 initially touched food industry helping parents in their food stall at Slim River, Perak during kids.  From there, Diane been generated passed her mother’s home made recipe mee hoon kueh subsequently extremely interested by her husband Mr. Tony Lau Toh Nee who is local origin running his newspaper enterpreneur more than 30 years in Johor Bahru.

In order to expose Diane home recipe mee hoon kueh and with husband having vision to let their children commence an enterpreneurship, Tony Lau who with age of 51 years old currently given support enabled wife Diane quit her job in Singapore and together stepped into the food and beverage industry in the year 2011 established their very first owned home made recipe mee hoon kueh specialize house at Taman Gaya, Johor named “Double Joy Food House One”.  Later in year 2014 with the assist by children, they successfully explore to second outlet at Taman Molek, Johor.

Their eldest daughter Ms. Doris Lau Luan Chin and husband, together with youngest daughter Ms. Debby Lau Luan Shien who born in year 1990 both from kids wanted their mother (Diane) home made mee hoon kueh currently operating the Taman Molek outlet. While the second son Mr. Keith Lau Ching Hong who with age of 25 years old currently operating their Taman Gaya main outlet both serving Diane’s exotic recipe.

In the food house, their tradition clear soup mee hoon kueh will be the top recommended menu served in soup base boiled more than 1.5 hours with ikan bilis, mushroom, pepper seeds, veges mixed in four recipe ingredients bring the best eatery.  While their mee hoon kueh having flavour choices of original flavour, spinach (green), spicy chilli (red) or carrot (orange) mixture topped with fried ikan bilis, fried onions, fish ball, veges, mushroom, pork minced and fried fish fillet make the complete signature bowl of ‘Mee Hoon Kueh Soup’.  Other, they have in dry Kon Lao Mee Hoon Kueh mixed with their home recipe soya sauce brings the best eatery also one of the favourites by their regulars. Other than traditional clear soup and dry kon lau, you can have the choices of topped with fried dolly fish, seafoods mix or abalone.  Moreover in the side order menu, the hand made dumpling which made insided mixed of fresh pork minced, prawn, carrot and ‘ma tai’ presenting the chewing when bites.  Nonetheless, their deep fried Wan Tan, Fish Cake and fried Fish Fillet also the most wanted which you must try when stepped into “Double Joy Food House One” in Johor, Malaysia.
