Kho Shel Hong’s father late Mr. Kho Wing Kim (commonly known Ah Rau, 1953-2020), was the initial founder who began his very own-running roadside chinese eating house named the “Kedai Kopi & Makanan Ah Rau” along the Sungai Korok, Simpang Kuala in the year of 1986 being decades serving his home recipes to the locals with his patience, later-on being generation passed onto his son Kho Shel Hong in the year of 2019, whose being nearly 20 years running his elder brother’s kueh teow soup eatery under the same roof with wife Bee Kean where the couple practically experienced in the field thoroughly.

In circumstances & with vision to further their exposure in the career, they moved and expanded their eating house into a better manner dining condition at Pekan Simpang Kuala in the year of 2021, then shifted to the recent location on the same territory since mid of year 2025 still carrying the name “Kedai Kopi & Makanan Ah Rau” (Hong Yun) continue serving all their signature menus to the public. And finally being recognised among the best in town by the Malaysian F&B E-Media for the year of 2025 on the northern nation at Kedah.
