Talking about “Prawn Mee”, most of the locals and visitors will think of Penang Prawn Mee in Malaysia.  But do you ever try the Singapore’s famous “Big Head Prawn Mee”?  This will be a big question mark for most of the Malaysians.  Here in Johor Bharu, we found and being recognised one the best Singapore’s big head prawn mee specialized house “Casual Restaurant”, brought into the market by Loh brother and sisters.

The Pahang originated family, Mr. Robert Loh Poo Ann (elder brother), Sophia Loh Mui Yoke and younger sister Karen Loh Mei Kean were the initial founders and immediate owners of the recommended “Casual Restaurant”, also being assisted by Karen’s husband Mr. Leong Tar Boon serving their home recipe’s authentic big head prawn noodles and other chinese cuisines menu to the public in the south nation under a roof.

Sophia Loh who formerly in Beauty Industry, all the while under employment in Singapore, having great interest in eatery and wishing to expose in the f&b career decided to stepped into the industry since year 2014 running her very first food stall along Jalan Wong Ah Fook, Johor Bharu introducing her fried kuey teow and Singapore’s big head prawn mee for about 2 years.  Having great response from the public and visitors.

While elder brother Robert Loh who is in Construction Industry and younger sister Karen Loh all the while in Insurance Industry both too having same vision to touch the f&b industry, added with foreseen the market opportunity in this career allowed them finally decided to support Sophia Loh, successfully established their very 1st eating house named “Casual Restaurant” at Mount Austin introducing Sophia’s home recipe signature Singapore’s Big Head Prawn Noodles in year 2016.

In Casual Restaurant, the founders first top recommended in menus surely will be their Signature Singapore’s Claypot Hokkien Big Head Prawn Noodles.  Fresh “Big Head Prawn” selected, prepared in pan-fried, then topped onto their recipes fried noodles mixed with deep fried pork oil cube, homemade sambal chilli & lime, served boiled minute in claypot brings authentic exotic eatery you must try when reached Johor Bharu.  Especially the prawn freshness & bites texture itself and the delicious noodles taste really cannot aside.

Secondly will be their Salted Egg Yolk Crab, which also among the recommended recently.  Local meat crab commonly selected, prepared in boil-cooked then served after seconds fried with their homemade salted egg yolk paste mixed into butter milk and recipes mixture brings excellent sweet and tasty eatery you will never regret after taken.

Another will be their Chinese Recipe’s Stewed Belly Pork or locally known “Tong Po Yuk”, which also one of the restaurant’s top seller recently in chef’s recipe.  Pork belly marinated and stewed about 90 minutes with 7-8 ingredients mixture, braised with preserved veges then served poured onto homemade sauce brings exotic slight salty taste you neither found elsewhere.  Smooth meat’s bites texture into mouth, will be their regular’s most wanted favourite.

Nonetheless, the owners also taken the opportunity to introduce their “Martell” Steamed Frog which differ from others.  Fresh frog prepared in cutted pieces, steamed about 7 minutes with recipes & herbals mixture, then served poured onto slight “Martell” liquor brings unbelievable freshness and wine taste you cannot missed when stepped into this “Casual Restaurant” at Mount Austin, Johor Bharu.
