Commonly in our nation Malaysia, you can found lots of signature “Curry Fish Head” which served on respective recipes favourites by the locals and visitors.  Also being one of our local’s delicacy eatery found everywhere.  But do you ever tasted the “Alluminum Wrapped Roasted Curry Fish Head”?  That we found and being recognised the said best selection in the “Restoran Zhi Wei” in Johor since year 2002.

The local Johorean Mr. Wong Kee Faut who originated from Kulai born 1973 was the initial founder, together with lovely wife Ms. Chang Sook Foon (born 1974) both are the immediate owners of the recommended “Restoran Zhi Wei” eating house in Johor Bharu recently introducing their authentic famous alluminium wrapped roasted curry fish head and signature boiled soup to the market for more than 10 years, having great response from the public.

Wong Kee Faut who at his age of 43 years old currently, was grown up in a f&b family being stepped into the career since his age of 15 helping parents in their family chinese cuisine restaurant “Sang Kee” in hometown Kelapa Sawit, Kulai began as kitchen trainee.  After 13 years been experienced in the industry and been positioned as Chef, enabled Kee Faut firstly established his very owned eating house at his 29th named “Restoran Zhi Wei” at Larkin, Johor Bharu in year 2002 with his signature alluminium wrapped roasted curry fish head which recipes passed onto from his master Ah Q.

From the beginning, wife Sook Foon been assisting husband in the career also allowed them to move a better location due to circumstances in year 2015 at Taman Anggerik Emas, Johor Bharu.  From there, Kee Faut started to present his home recipes boiled soup selection to the locals in addition made them to be recognised as one of the best eating house in year 2016.

In this Zhi Wei, the founder Kee Faut’s first top recommended in menu surely still be his famous Alluminium Wrapped Roasted Curry Fish Head.  Commonly red fish head selected, wrapped using alluminium wrapper insided with their homemade curry paste made from more than 10 ingredients mixture, mixed with long bean, eggplant, lady finger & dried beancurd sheet, then served after about 15 minutes roast brings exotic Indian’s curry spicy taste you must try when reached Johor.

Secondly will be their Spicy Spare Ribs, which among the restaurant’s signature cantonese dish by Kee Faut’s recipe.  Pork ribs prepared in cutted pieces, stewed about 40 minutes with their spicy soy beans sauce recipe mixtures from 8 ingredients, then served boiled in claypot brings authentic salty, sweet and spicy taste you never regret after tasted.  Especially the delicious sticky sauce swallowed into mouth.

Another will be among the restaurant’s top seller recently, their home cooked Black Vinegar Port Trotter.  Local fresh pork trotter selected, stewed more than half hour with black vinegar, ginger & their in-house 8 recipes mixture and served boiled in claypot really brings unbelievable sweet & sour taste into mouth.  Also the trotter bites texture itself you cannot aside.

For sure, cannot forget on the recommended authentic Boiled Soup which introduced by the owners in this restaurant.  Among the regular’s favourite will be their Lotus Root & Gound Nut boiled at least 4 hours with dried cuttlefish and pork neck bones or the Black Beans Soup all served in claypot which you really cannot missed when stepped into this “Restoran Zhi Wei” at Johor Bharu.
