UNIQUE STEAM HOTPOT, STEAMBOAT AND BUFFET ALL-IN-ONE RESTAURANT IN JOHOR BAHRU

The demand for healthy food has risen up in recent years due to the fact that people are becoming more and more health conscious. In China and Hong Kong, Steam Hotpot is a healthy concept and the trend has spread to more countries including Malaysia. Here in Johor Bahru, we have successfully discovered and recognised the Steam Hotpot specialist “Restoran Zui Xian”.

Ms. Teh Kim Hua is the owner and founder of “Restoran Zui Xian”. She has been operating this restaurant since 2016 and has received response from the customers, local and non-local, for its healthy steamed food concept.

Ms. Teh Kim Hua was born in 1965 at Melaka. She first stepped into the F&B industry when she was 52 years old. Before that she worked as a head tutor and she had no experience in managing a restaurant. Yearning to have her own restaurant, she established her own healthy concept “Restoran Zui Xian”, hoping that more customers can enjoy their meal in a comfortable and healthy restaurant.

“Steam Hotpot” is the main concept in “Restoran Zui Xian”. The owner emphasised on the importance of healthy food and for her this is one of the healthiest concept ever discovered. Underneath the hotpot is the porridge and all the food is placed onto the specially designed steam plate above the porridge to be steamed. There are at least 50 selections available for the hotpot categorised into Seafood, Meat, mushroom, dim sum and vegetables. Among the customers’ favourite are clams, crabs and marinated pork.

Next is Steamboat concept. Steamboat is meaningless without soup base, so coming out with delicious soup base is important. In the end, the owner has come out with four types of soup base, Asam pedas, curry, herbal chicken and carrot and pork soup base. The correct procedure to start the steamboat meal is to choose the soup base first. Fortunately in “Zui Xian”, the customers get to try two types of soup base. After that, over 50 selections of food are available for order and according to Ms. Teh, all the selections are based on order, unlike those “Free Style” buffet. She has always wanted to ensure that all food presented to the customers is always fresh and every food has to be carefully monitored and controlled.

Everyday between 12pm to 3pm, “Restoran Zui Xian” will open up its “Buffet Style Lunch” for customers. Customers can have the freedom of choice to order chicken soup, dessert, fruits, beverages. Among the top selected food are fried green bean, clams, chicken feet, fried chicken wings and steamed fish with sambal.
